Azerbaijan - the guarantor of regional development

The protracted financial and economic crises in several countries of the European Community, social and political crises in a number of countries of North Africa and the Middle East, the world food crisis, natural disasters, global warming, certainly could not bypass the Republic of Azerbaijan, which through major projects of regional and continental importance, an open door policy is an integral part of the global world.
The results of socio-economic development of Azerbaijan in the first half of 2011, voiced by President Ilham Aliyev at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday, once again confirm the fidelity of the current economic policy and strategic development.
The results of socio-economic development of Azerbaijan in the first half of 2011, voiced by President Ilham Aliyev at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday, once again confirm the fidelity of the current economic policy and strategic development.
Azerbaijan under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev is now a donor country, a locomotive and guarantor of regional development and social stability, a reliable energy partner of a subcontinental scale, pride and glory of all Azerbaijanis. To neutralize global problems, the government has always taken preventive measures. Thus, the energy, food, and communication security of the country was ensured, to a certain extent dependence on hot oil revenues was removed, and not only the capital but also the regional infrastructure was developed. The commissioning of international airports in four districts of the country is not the only proof of this.
Yesterday at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the President of the Republic raised important tasks to develop medium and small businesses, protect the domestic market from artificial arbitrariness, strengthen the positions and products and services produced by local entrepreneurs. We should mention the paradox that Azerbaijani business, successfully competing in foreign markets, sometimes meets in the domestic market with unhealthy competition. The determinant of the country's competitiveness is the capacity of its production and productivity. Additional volumes placed in government orders and projects, we believe, would increase tax revenues to the budget of the country from the non-energy sector, as well as contribute to the solution of a number of social issues. Support from the President, in turn, Azerbaijani entrepreneurs should stimulate to improve the quality of products, upgrade production lines using advanced technologies and modern forms of management.
