With my invitation, from 9 to 13 November, a world-scale researcher, president of GLO, director of the Center for Socio-Economic Research established by the United Nations University and Maasstricht University, professor of the Bonn University, honorary doctor of many popular universities, labor economics guru, my friend and Partner Dr. Prof. Dr. Klaus Zimmermann visited Baku. He was for the first time in Baku. I wanted my distinguished guest to get impressions about Baku, about Azerbaijan, to become useful with his valuable recommendations in the field of social and economic reforms, and to indicate prospects for effective cooperation.
Mr. Zimmermann is a very busy man, his schedule is arranged by days. And I was very happy that despite the busy schedule, he sacrificed his short-term rest and flew to Baku. He was on a busy business trip in China and Hong Kong, and I noticed fatigue in his deep meaning in the eyes, although what he wanted to hide it.
For him, I prepared a rich program, which, I admit, I do not regret. I think my friend was not offended to me, because he knows what I want to do for the good of the country, humanity, the welfare of the Earth. Such people, like Klaus, do not belong to one nation, they are people of the whole Earth. They are called to serve good and prosperity .
In the implementation of the program, the central mission was fulfilled by the Secretariat of the 1st Vice President, Mr. Zimmermann and I am grateful to them.
The first two days Klaus familiarized himself with the sights of Baku, the ancient history of Azerbaijan, and the national cuisine of Azerbaijan. I honestly, openly, without falsehood, sincerely set before him the image of Baku. Fortunately, there is something to be proud of. Under the leadership of the President, with delicated love and creative thinking of the 1st Vice President, Baku has become one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The country lives happily in general, and this is despite a million refugees and internally displaced people. For four days of common dinners, all the restaurants we visited were packed. I did not deliberately select restaurants, as I indicated above, imitation is not in my character, especially in front of a respected friend. Klaus was pleasantly surprised to see his families at dinner and the presence of numerous women. It is an indicator of success in the gender issue. I told about the historical and cultural role of Azerbaijan in the East. Now this role is successfully complemented by integration to Europe. Oil and gas, the culture of my country are becoming the main elements of modern integration. The factor of human capital, the diversification of the economy and its social status are the determining determinants of Mr. President’s politics.
The next two days were set aside for meetings. Just want to thank everyone who accepted us. I am sure that Dear Professor will agree to my thanks. All meetings were warm, welcoming. But from the point of view of efficiency, I would say meeting with the assistants of 1st vice-president and certainly a meeting with the rector of the ADA University, PROFESSOR, Ambassador H. Pashayev with the participation of young creative managers must be put in a special place. In these meetings, clearly felt the interest to learn, to enrich, to find ways of cooperation. In these meetings, the rank of the guest and his rich experience in the field of migration and employment were understood. Both sides were pleased.
The world is changing, and changingvery dynamically. Sometimes it seems to me the borders will exist to make the geographical map of the world does not look monotonous.
