Oil fell in price on Monday during the Asian trading session.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, WTI crude oil for January delivery fell 0.65% to $ 57.98. At the Intercontinental Exchange, Brent crude oil fell 0.46% to $ 63.44 a barrel.
The dollar rose on Monday, reaching a two-week high to the yen.
Monday the dollar added 0.6 percent to 112.81 yen after rising to 112.985, the high since November 17.
The euro slid 0.2 percent to $ 1.1870, while the dollar index to the basket of major currencies increased by 0.3 percent to 93.124.
The pound slid 0.1 percent to $ 1.3466, but was held near the two-month peak at $ 1.3550, reached on Friday.
The Australian dollar lost 0.1 percent to $ 0.7599, and the New Zealand dollar fell 0.5 percent to $ 0.6852.
